Some oil belongs in the kitchen. This one belongs on the table.
We planted our Barnea olive trees as hedges, just to make the farm look good. Now they give us a proper harvest every year. Every April and May we pick the olives by hand, and a trusted local farmer cold-presses them so nothing is lost. There are about 250 litres in a good year, all of it bottled by hand and sold only from our restaurant.
The 375ml bottle is the one we put out at the table. Pour it over fresh bread, drizzle it on a salad, or finish a warm plate just before it’s eaten. The oil is smooth, golden and velvety, and it tastes best when you can pass it around.
It also makes a good gift for someone who likes real food from a real farm.
