Description
It started as landscaping. We planted Barnea olive trees as hedges on the farm because they looked good and they were tough. They turned out to be far more than that.
Today those hedges give us a real harvest every year. In April and May the family picks the olives by hand while the mornings are still crisp. A trusted local farmer cold-presses them for us, which keeps the character of the oil intact. We end up with roughly 250 litres a year. Every bottle is filled by hand, and none of it is sold anywhere but here.
This 1 litre bottle is for the working kitchen: the restaurant, the guest house, the braai kitchen, the home cook who gets through oil quickly. It is smooth, golden and velvety. Use it for dressing, for finishing a dish, for bread, for roasting.
- Cold-pressed, extra virgin
- From our own Barnea olive trees, grown on the farm
- Picked by hand, bottled by hand
- Small annual harvest, so when it’s gone, it’s gone until next season

Keep it in a cool, dark cupboard and close the lid after use.
